Fiona Daly


Environmental Manager, Barts Health NHS Trust


Fiona Daly is currently heads up the Sustainability team at Barts Health NHS Trust; the largest Trust in the NHS occupying 574,000m2 of real estate, employing 15,000 staff and with an annual turnover of £1.25bn. She has worked for the trust for the past 5 years where she has successfully implemented a number of initiatives to reduce the trusts environmental impacts; reducing emissions by 43% on the baseline year (2007) as well as tackling social impacts which have a determinant on health; such as fuel poverty and air quality.

Through her work she has successfully delivered wide scale change, both within the organisation and within the wider NHS, putting research behind complex problems such as how to change behaviours and enabling sharing and collaboration across sectors – public, private and third. Her work has been recognised in a number of awards won by the trust including the prestigious Health Service Journal (HSJ) Award for Improving Environmental and Social Sustainability.
