Cenex to deliver Low Carbon Transport Zone at EMEX

Cenex – the UK’s first Centre of Excellence for low carbon technologies and currently celebrating ‘10 years of excellence’ in the low carbon vehicle sector, is once again delivering ‘The Low Carbon Transport Zone’ in conjunction with the Energy Managers Association at this year’s Energy Management Exhibition. EMEX is the meeting place for the energy supply chain and takes place today and tomorrow at ExCel in London.

As a supporting partner of EMEX, Cenex is managing ‘The Low Carbon Transport Zone’ for a second year. It features manufacturers, vehicle providers and service support, including

Chargemaster, Mitsubishi and Toyota, highlighting to attendees that low carbon vehicle alternatives are real and relevant. The Golf GTE and eNV200 British Gas Van are also on display.

Cenex is showcasing its Van Cost and Carbon Calculator (VC3) and advising attendees on the vehicle and fleet implications of the new EU legislative requirement – the Energy Saving Opportunities Scheme. They are also hosting a Low Carbon Vehicle Surgery and are offering pre-bookable one-to-one meetings where an experienced staff member will be able to answer questions and give advice.

Robert Evans, CEO of Cenex said, “Transport is fast becoming a focus point for potential energy saving opportunities in the energy management sector. The introduction of the Energy Saving Opportunities Scheme (ESOS) by the UK Government means that the energy consumption associated with the business use of all company and grey fleet vehicles (including all vehicle classes, from cars and light commercial vehicles to heavy good vehicles and motorbikes) falls within ESOS. The partnership between Cenex and EMEX is tackling this head on by providing EMEX’s attendees with a Transport Zone where they will be able to gain understanding of the carbon and financial cost of Transport used in their businesses as part of ESOS; thus increasing business competitiveness and securing cash and carbon savings.”
